From different places, one family in Christ.
Golgotha Uniting Church is a vibrant, multicultural Christian community based in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
Our congregation has strong roots within East and Central African communities, and Swahili continues to be an important part of our worship, culture and identity.
At the same time, Golgotha is a church for everyone. Our church family includes children, young people, adults and families from different backgrounds and life experiences, united through our faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe church should be a place where people can encounter God, belong to a family, grow in their faith, discover their purpose and use their gifts to serve others.
Our mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ, make disciples, build strong families and serve our community.
We seek to live out our faith not only through what happens on Sunday, but through the way we care for people throughout the week.
Through worship, prayer, biblical teaching, discipleship, youth and children’s ministries, music, community activities and practical support, we want to help people grow into everything God has called them to be
We seek to be a Christ-centred and growing church where people can:
Encounter God and put Jesus at the centre of life.
Experience genuine Christian community and family.
Become disciples who are growing in faith and purpose.
Discover and use their gifts to serve others.
Share Christ’s love within our community and beyond.
Share Christ’s love within our community and beyond.
Golgotha is a congregation of the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of South Australia, and is connected with Generate Presbytery.
Being part of the wider Uniting Church connects us with congregations and communities across South Australia and Australia.
While we celebrate the unique cultural heritage of Golgotha, we are also part of a much bigger Christian family.
Golgotha’s story has been shaped by faith, migration and community.
Many members of our congregation have journeys that began in Africa before establishing new lives in Australia.
Through those experiences, the church became much more than a place for Sunday worship. It became a place of belonging, connection, encouragement and practical support.
Golgotha has continued to grow as children and young people have become an increasingly important part of the life and future of the church.
Today, we honour where we have come from while looking forward to where God is leading us.
